Vitals: Clovis West, senior, 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay

He's qualified because: Purdue-bound swimmer captured his first Central Section Championships gold medal with All-America time of 50.48 in the 100 fly. Also posted All-America times in placing second in 200 IM (1:52.86) and as part of title-winning 200 medley (1:36.32) and 400 free (3:09.37) relay teams. His 49.90 in prelims of the 100 fly is 50th fastest in the nation; he ranks 79th in the 200 IM. Three-time Bee All-Star swam four All-America times and one consideration mark in three trips to the section championships.

He said it: “You look at him and he’s not a big kid, but he’s got great technique and great heart. What puts him up there is his work ethic, which I would say is second to none in terms of how hard he’s willing to work. This is a kid who studies and swims. He enjoys it and he works hard at it every single day.” — Clovis West coach Steve Baxter
