Vitals: Clovis West, junior
He's qualified because: Paced a Clovis West team that won the North Area championship and Tri-River Athletic Conference tournament. Advanced to the Central Section individual championships. Was silver medalist and all-league member in TRAC. Finished runner-up at the TRAC championship tournament. Had Clovis West's best competitive-round average.
He said it: "You're talking about a late bloomer who just started playing competitive golf not even two years ago, and he's already doing great. He's picked up the game so quickly. Back in March, we had a tournament played in hail and a wind storm and Troy still shot a 69. I'm in awe of him every time I watch." -- Clovis West coach Tom Deel
