Vitals: Selma, sophomore, 112

Need to know: Became the third wrestler in California history to win state titles as a freshman and a sophomore after defeating Sanger’s Chris Diaz 5-0 in the 112-pound final.

He won state at 103 pounds last year.

Cisneros went 39-1 with 12 pins, eight technical falls and seven major decisions and won titles at the Pittman Duals, North Torrance Tournament of Champions, Doc Buchanan, Five Counties Invitational, Sierra/Sequoia Divisionals and Masters tournaments.

He was second at the Walsh Ironman in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, suffering the only loss of his high school career to Evan Silver of Blair Academy-New Jersey.

He said it: “It’s always hard to get that second one and defend that title. He had the bull’s-eye on him and everyone was trying to knock him off that throne. He handled that really well. He just does an outstanding job. I don’t know if there’s a kid in the state who outworks him. He’s unbelievable.” — Selma coach Sam Lopez
