Vitals: Clovis West, senior, defender

Need to know: Repeat Bee All-Star selection

Played sweeper, stopper and marking back for the Golden Eagles.

Earned first-team All-Tri-River Athletic Conference honors for the second straight season.

Schoenfeld was a two-time team MVP and made the all-tournament team at the De La Salle Showcase tournament two years in a row.

He said it: “He’s one of the top defenders around. He’s strong with the ball, has good technical ability, leads on the field and worked hard. I could always count on him to make a last-ditch play to keep the ball out of the box. I usually put him on the other team’s top forward, and he usually shut him down.” — Clovis West coach Neil Deans
