THE BUZZ

Today's Buchanan-Central game at Koligian Stadium, which will crown the Tri-River Athletic Conference champion, should decide the top seed in the Division I playoffs.

Division II doesn't lack contenders for the No. 1 seed with Golden West, Tulare Western and Sunnyside all looking strong.

The section's only teams without a loss -- Golden Valley (D-III) and Mission Prep (D-V) should end up with top seeds, as should one-loss Farmersville (D-VI).

THE BUZZ

With Buchanan seemingly a lock to be the top seed in the Division I playoffs, the scramble for the No. 2 seed would appear to be among four contenders, all in line to be league champions: Bullard, Stockdale and Bakersfield.

Several teams could be able to make a claim for the top seed in D-II, among them are Garces, Tulare Western, Tulare, El Diamante and Redwood.

Madera South should have the edge on Clovis North for the top spot in D-III based on a head-to-head win. Central Valley Christian (D-IV), Liberty-Madera Ranchos (D-V) and Strathmore (D-VI) look like front-runners for top seeds.
