Kings County neighbors Hanford and Corcoran are assaulting the record books. At Hanford, with 255 successful 3-pointers, the state's ninth-ranked Bullpups are on pace to break the state record of 338 set by Pinewood-Los Altos Hills in 2003. Hanford added 15 3s to its total in an 84-55 home-court thrashing of No. 6 Oak Ridge-El Dorado Hills on Saturday. Bullpups senior Taylor Spikes ranks 15th in state history with 265 3s.
At Corcoran, senior guard Tabitha Torres, with 2,154 career points, is closing in on Claretha Davis' school standard of 2,222. And Panthers coach Doug White, with 369 career wins, is narrowing the gap on section record-holder Karen Wood (443).
