She's qualified because: The Bee's 2008 Cross Country Girls Runner of the Year ran considerably faster this season, placing second in the Central Section Division I race on Woodward Park's 3.1-mile course at 17:52 — 35 seconds better than when she won the race as a junior. She placed 11th in the state.

He said it: "She had a breakout season and, obviously, as a senior, that's what you hope for. She was the most confident I've seen her in four years, and that's huge. She was on a mission, bound and determined to have a good season, and she did." — Cougars coach Rob Brenner.
