ALISHA BROWN

School: Madera South

Year: Senior

She's qualified because: One of the area's most versatile runners, she followed a third-place finish in last spring's section 800-meter finals by winning the section Division III cross country final (18:32) and placing 24th in the state (18:41).

KATIE FRY

School: Exeter

Year: Junior

She's qualified because: Similar to Madera South's Alisha Brown in being able to adjust well to a range of distances, she followed a second-place finish — between Mission Prep's Jordan Hasay and Brown — in the track 800-meter championship by placing third in the section cross country Division III race (18:56) and 16th in the state (18:32).

LINDSAY GRAY

School: Clovis

Year: Sophomore

She's qualified because: Placed seventh in the Tri-River Athletic Conference (19:22) before popping an 18:52 for ninth in the section Division I race.

CARINA MENDOZA

School: Madera

Year: Senior

She's qualified because: Placed fifth in the Tri-River Athletic Conference (18:51) and seventh in the section (18:29) — an 18-second improvement over last year, when she finished third.

ALI TELIHA

School: Bullard

Year: Freshman

She's qualified because: Joined teammate Marisa Gonzalez and Buchanan's Hagen Reedy in the Fab Frosh class by running eighth in the section (18:47) after finishing second to Gonzalez in the County/Metro Athletic Conference finals.
