DIVISION I
Centennial 16, Clovis East 14 The No. 9 Timberwolves (4-7) were stopped on downs near midfield in the final minute as the No. 8 Golden Hawks (7-4) held on to win in Bakersfield.

Sean Johnson-Bey rushed 41 times for 247 yards and two touchdowns for Clovis East, but the Timberwolves hurt themselves three times on special teams.

DIVISION II

Sanger 20, West 3 The No. 8 Apaches grounded the No. 9 Vikings with a bruising and balanced rushing game.

John Pinedo had 55 yards on 7 carries and scored on runs of 11 and 9 yards. He was one of four Sanger backs who rushed for 50 or more yards.

Conner Luallen, who led the Apaches (6-5) with 15 carries for 62 yards, scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter to cap a string of 20 straight points.

The victory advances Sanger to the quarterfinals, where it will run into No. 1 Tulare (10-0), one of only four unbeaten teams in the section.

DIVISION III

Clovis North 37, Chavez 6 The No. 9 Broncos had no trouble in their playoff debut thanks to a smothering defense and one half from standout running back Alec Mechikoff.

Next up for the Broncos (5-6) is No. 1 Dinuba in the quarterfinals.

In the first half, Mechikoff rushed 14 times for 112 yards and his touchdown runs of 9, 1 and 22 yards shot the Broncos ahead 21-0. A 1,200-yard rusher for the season, he didn't play in the second half because of a stomach illness and is questionable for Friday's quarterfinal at top-seeded Dinuba.

Brian Parmer, who led all backs with 124 yards on 14 touches, capped Clovis North's night with a 16-yard run.

Broncos quarterback Chris Mariscol completed 11 of 16 passes for 240 yards with a 15-yard scoring toss to David Hayes. Jonathan Pulido led all receivers with 5 catches for 102 yards.

Delano 23, Highland 6

Highland High had no answer for Delano's Josh Garcia on Friday night.

Garcia rushed for 126 yards, passed for another 42 and scored twice as the No. 4-seeded Tigers opened the Central Section Division II playoffs with a 23-6 rout of the No. 13 Scots.

Delano (9-2) moves on to face No. 5 Hanford in the quarterfinals.

The Tigers defense pitched a shutout in the second half to close the door.

Garcia carried 16 times and scored on runs of 2 and 25 yards. Jose Rivera added a 1-yard touchdown and Jose Manjarrez a safety for the defense.

DIVISION IV

Dos Palos 35, Central Valley Christian 14 The No. 6 Broncos, behind the hard running of Kevin Schofield and David Quiroz, returned to form with an overpowering ground attack.

Schofield rushed 20 times for 199 yards and three touchdowns, as Dos Palos (6-5) compiled 351 yards on the ground. Quiroz added 18 carries for 160 yards and one score.

The Broncos will play No. 3 Taft in the quarterfinals.

Greg Ray gave Dos Palos' special teams a boost with an 82-yard kick return for a touchdown.

The No. 11 Cavaliers (4-7) had one offensive score -- Brandon Dykstra's 20-yard pass to Manuel Oliveria. Justin Roeloffs' 94-yard kickoff return accounted for the other touchdown.

Sierra 41, Immanuel 14 Quarterback Colton Zimmerman had a hand in four touchdowns and the No. 7 seed Chieftains bullied the No. 10 Eagles.

Sierra (8-3) moves on to face No. 2 Washington in the quarterfinals.

Zimmerman rushed for 90 yards and threw for 88, while scoring on runs of 12, 14 and 3 yards. He also threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Westley Abbs, who rushed 31 times for 116 yards with a 1-yard score.

The Chieftains put it away early scoring 21 unanswered points in the first quarter and built a 35-0 advantage entering the fourth.
