Fresno State's library will reopen Saturday afternoons beginning this weekend, officials said Wednesday.

The library had been closed Saturdays due to budget cuts, but federal stimulus money will allow it to open from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, authorities said.

The entire campus is closed Nov. 25 to Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Saturday library schedule will be retained during the spring semester.

Students have been clamoring for more library hours.

On Nov. 7, about a dozen students went to President John Welty's house to study because the library was closed. The home was donated to the university for use by its president.
