A couple of other classical music picks this weekend:

* Fresno Community Chorus, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Shaghoian Concert Hall, 2770 E. International Ave. at Clovis North High School. communitychorus.csufresno.edu, (559) 278-2654. $15, $8 students.

Ever since the Clovis Unified School District blessed the Fresno metro area with the acoustically acclaimed new Shaghoian Concert Hall, it's been a rite of passage for local arts groups to debut there.

The 100-plus-member Fresno Community Chorus gets that opportunity with a fall concert featuring Mozart's Requiem Mass in D minor and Handel's Dixit Dominus. Anna Hamre conducts.

* Pianist Nikolaas Kende, 7 p.m. Sunday, Concert Hall, Fresno State, keyboardconcerts.com, (559) 278-2337. $18, $12 seniors, $5 students.

Kende, an acclaimed Belgian pianist, makes one of his first American appearances with a visit to the Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concert Series.

He has played in Germany, Bulgary, Portugal, Italy, Austria and Spain. In Fresno, he'll perform works by Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt and Kodály.

The concert is underwritten by the Bonner Family Foundation.
