Ke Ke Wang contributed one of her most efficient efforts of the season as NAIA No. 1 Fresno Pacific rallied for a 3-1 Golden State Athletic Conference win over No. 5 Azusa Pacific on Tuesday at the Special Events Center.

Wang, a junior middle blocker from China, had 18 kills in hitting .571 as the Sunbirds (28-0, 17-0) won 22-25, 28-26, 25-14, 25-23.

Emily Carroll and Erica Adachi combined for 49 assists and Mariah Mandelbaum (Clovis West) offered 16 digs for Fresno Pacific, which will visit No. 2 Cal Baptist in Riverside on Saturday.

Adams leads Rams to title

Peggy Adams shot a 78 for the best round and Lauren Marlowe (82), Toyahni Beihn (84) and Laura Andrews (85) also finished in the top five as Fresno City won the final Central Valley Conference tournament to capture the league championship.

The Rams will advance to the Northern California Regional Nov. 9-10 in Chico. They had all-conference players in Adams, who led with an 83.2 average, and Marlow, Beihn and Andrews. Reedley's Lexi Zanovitch, second to Adams at 84.0, also was All-CVC, along with teammate Galisa Zamarripa. West Hills-Lemoore was represented by Kelsey Alcala and Beth Morton.

DeChambeau gets junior win

Clovis' Bryson DeChambeau shot 70-72--142 for a two-stroke boys championship flight win at the NCGA Junior Tour Championship at Belmont Country Club, his third tour win of the season.

San Jose's Mariko Tumangan, a 2009 U.S. Women's Open qualifier, roared home with a final-round 66 for a two-round 138 and a seven-stroke victory over Clovis' Madchen Ly in the girls' championship flight. Asia Adell of Fresno placed third at 149.

Cal Expo to keep racing

Cal Expo officials locked up a long-term deal with their horse-racing tenants.

During the weekend, Cal Expo reached a tentative six-year agreement to keep harness racing there through at least 2013.

The deal came three weeks after their board of directors pledged a move to Fresno by 2011.

"Nobody's talking about Fresno now," Cal Expo racing director David Elliott said.
