A man accused of several bank robberies, including two in Fresno, is in custody in the Fresno County Jail, police say.

Michael Minjarez, 38, of Stockton is believed to be the bandit who robbed the United Security Bank at 2151 W. Shaw Ave. on Sept. 25 and again on Sept. 28, Fresno police Sgt. Dave Ramos said.

Minjarez was taken into custody Monday in Firebaugh. Ramos said Minjarez, who was paroled after serving 10 years in prison for robbery, was identified by detective Leon Martinez with the help of the Department of Corrections. Minjarez also is believed to be responsible for two bank robberies in Stockton and one in Madera.
