Senior Azarri Badawi has joined Bullard teammate Mariah Riddlesprigger by making an oral commitment to play Division I volleyball at a Conference USA university next season.

Badawi, a middle blocker averaging more than five kills a match, is headed to Tulane, where she will be a teammate of current Clovis West setter Melody Mandelbaum. Riddlesprigger, an outsider hitter who averages more than nine kills a match, previously committed to Rice.

Both are expected to sign their national letters of intent in November.

"For them to achieve their goal of playing in college, I'm excited for them," Bullard coach Kieran Roblee said. "Both of them are hard-working individuals."

Bullard will take part in a breast cancer awareness fundraiser Oct. 15 when it hosts Clovis North in a County/Metro Athletic Conference match.

The match will be played with three pink volleyballs, which will be autographed by the teams and auctioned. A donation booth also will be set up, and fans attending the match are encouraged to wear pink.
