A 91-year-old man was found safe in his car after being missing for more than 12 hours Wednesday.

Clovis police sought the public's help finding Abdollah Rahnama after his family said he didn't arrive at his doctor's office at Maple and Herndon avenues and failed to return to his home on the 400 block of West Birch Avenue. The family reported him missing shortly after 2 p.m.

A Fresno County sheriff's deputy found Rahnama, who has Alzheimer's disease, in his car near Auberry Road and Jose Basin Road northeast of Auberry shortly after 9 p.m. A concerned driver had called 911 to report a disoriented person in the area.

Rahnama was taken to Community Medical Center Clovis for observation.
