The last remaining Gottschalks stores will close Sunday, store officials said Tuesday.

Some stores may run out of inventory before then, but Sunday is the last scheduled day of business, said Scott Carpenter, an executive vice president with Great American Group. The company is one of four liquidators disposing of the bankrupt Fresno-based department store's assets.

In the central San Joaquin Valley, Gottschalks stores at River Park and Fashion Fair in Fresno, the Sierra Vista Mall store in Clovis and the Visalia store are expected to close that day. The stores did not give specific closing times.

They follow last monthÂ’s closures of the Manchester Center store in Fresno and the Gottschalks in Oakhurst and Hanford.
