Vitals: Buchanan, junior, 110 high hurdles/300 intermediate hurdles

He’s qualified because: Contributed 20 points to the Bears’ 45½-point runaway boys team title in the Central Section meet by winning the 110 high hurdles (14.15) and 300 intermediate hurdles (38.63).

And he placed seventh and eighth in the state in those events.

His season bests of 14.15 and 38.59 are No. 5 and No. 10 all-time in the section for a junior.

He said it: “Sean had one of the best junior years a kid could ever have. He’s making a name for himself, and that’s good. He’s getting right on the lines of Tim Bogdanof [Buchanan graduate who ranks fourth in section history at 13.97]. He worked real hard to make himself physical stronger and also came out for cross country just to challenge himself.” – Bears coach Brian Weaver.
