Vitals: Madera, senior, infielder

She's qualified because: Offensive catalyst for the Coyotes hit .429 overall and .406 in Tri-River Athletic Conference play to earn all-league honors.

Opened as No. 3 hitter, but moved to leadoff halfway through the season, finishing with 13 doubles, four triples and 13 RBIs and 30 runs.

Defensively, her coach said, there isn’t a better third baseman in the section than Medina, who also played some at catcher and second base.

She said it: “I sure wouldn’t want to face her if I was the opposing coach. She’s the glue that kept us together. She hit the ball extremely well from beginning to end, and she hits the ball with a tremendous amount of power. Even when people get her out, she stings the ball.” — Madera coach Judy Shaubach
