Vitals: Washington, junior, utility

She's qualified because: With her speed and ability to place the ball all over the field, Rich hit .629 for the season with a .661 on-base percentage.

The all-North Sequoia League pick also had four doubles, four triples, scored 33 runs and stole 43 bases.

Defensively, played second base and catcher, throwing out 19 of 29 would-be base stealers. She has 155 hits in three varsity seasons.

She said it: “She attacks defenses very well. If you pitch her up, she’ll put the ball in the outfield. If you pitch her out, she’ll hit it in the hole to left. If you play back, she’ll put the bunt down. This is what you see in the games. What you don’t see is all the extra time she puts in in the batting cage and weight room and at practice. She had a goal to improve her speed and hitting this year, and she did both.” — Washington coach Denise Rich, Victoria’s mother
