Uncharted territory is starting to become pretty familiar to the Clovis East High boys volleyball team.

Fresh off the first section title in program history, the Timberwolves will host Royal-Simi Valley at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the Division I Southern California Regional.

Clovis East (26-3) is the No. 3 seed in the eight-team bracket. Sixth-seeded Royal (21-7) is one of four Southern Section teams in the field.

"Traditionally, [Royal] has been a very strong program so I know it's going to be a tough match," Clovis East coach Daren Torbet said. "We're just glad we get to play it at home."

Bullard, the Central Section runner-up in Division I, did not receive a bid for the first-ever boys volleyball regionals despite the Knights' pedigree of seven section titles.

Clovis North was selected in the Division III bracket with the Broncos traveling to face Laguna Beach in the first round.
