Katelyn Krezman once sold 400 boxes of Girl Scout cookies using hard work and a simple philosophy.
Aim high and try not to bother them if they dont want to buy, she said simply.
Katelyn has always aimed high both at school and in life.
Shes balanced perfect grades and academic success with outside interests and volunteer work.
For example, Katelyn packed backpacks with school supplies for children affected by the Mariposa fires last year, took a mission trip to Colorado, played basketball at school and earned a perfect score on a recent standardized math test.
Those honors and her giving spirit captured the attention of Lincoln Elementary teachers Lisa Edwards and Cheryl Merrill, who nominated Katelyn for Academic All-Stars.
She excels in her school work and also has a heart of gold when it comes to helping others and gives her time unconditionally, they said.
Katelyn said shes proud to be named an Academic All-Star and to have attended the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.
Most of all, she said, Im proud of my family. They have taught me so many things.
Theyve raised me to be a good kid and Ive learned lots of things from them.
Katelyn is mulling over possible career paths, but says: Ive always loved animals, so probably a veterinarian.
