The ninth annual Tower Classic Car Show features more than 500 cars -- streets rods, fat fenders, T-buckets, roadsters, muscle cars, pickups and nostalgia rods -- from 1931 to 1972.
Awards will be presented in 20 different classes of cars.
The event also includes vendor booths, a beer garden and live music. Proceeds will be donated to Nancy Hinds Hospice.

Two giants of the Christian pop world -- Michael W. Smith (right) and Steven Curtis Chapman -- bring their co-headlining United tour to the the Visalia Convention Center tonight. The tour is on a new spring leg after starting last fall and playing sold-out shows around the country.
Between them, Chapman and Smith have won eight Grammys and 96 Dove Awards while collecting 78 No. 1 singles.

It has been 15 years since Kurt Cobain's death; the anniversary was Wednesday, in fact.
While you're remembering the magic of Cobain, gear up for a top-notch Nirvana tribute act coming to Fresno next week. Based in Chicago, the band Nevermind has played Nirvana music since 1991. Three brothers make up the band, and their repertoire includes 80 songs.

It's "Bunnypalooza" time. The Fresno Metropolitan Museum's festival features an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter bunny and games, crafts and other activities. Children are asked to bring a sanitized one-gallon milk container to craft bunny-shaped Easter baskets.
The Central California SPCA will give demonstrations on bunny care and make adoptions.
Boston Brass clinic

The Fresno Center for Nonviolence is presenting Richard Gage's provocative film "9/11 Blueprint for Truth: The Architecture of Destruction," which contradicts the official explanations of the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings. Dennis Peyton, a registered civil engineer, will introduce the film, which is sponsored by the organization Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth.
College hosts MTV VJ and a philosopher

Call it a dynamic-speaker double-header at Fresno City College: Poet and MTV VJ Ruby Veridiano-Ching, author of the book "Miss Universe," will speak at 11 a.m. Thursday; and three hours later in the same hall, philosopher John H. McClendon III will talk about "Barack Obama & The White House: Philosophically Conceptualizing the Color Line in the 21st Century."
River Rock Poetry & Music Festival

To kick off its Respite by the River reading series, The San Joaquin River Parkway Trust is having a music and poetry festival on Saturday.
Internationally recognized poet Victor Hernandez Cruz is the headlining guest. He'll perform with a percussion ensemble. Local bands Pa' Chango and The Hmong Council also will perform.
Poets include David Campos, G.F.T.D. 1 and the Valley Voices youth writers club.
The Cellar Door
It's another busy week coming up at Visalia's The Cellar Door, 101 W. Main St. Here are some highlights:
Saturday: Catch an early screening of the Wilco movie, "Ashes of American Flags," followed by Blue States Band playing Wilco covers and originals. It's free. 8 p.m.
Tuesday: Bay Area folk band Vetiver makes a tour stop behind its new Sub Pop Records album, "Tight Knit." Rolling Stone called the band's frontman Andy Cabic the "thinking man's Jack Johnson." 9:30 p.m. $5.
Thursday: New wave/soul band Hockey is building its buzz after a successful South by Southwest performance and upcoming stops at the Sasquatch Music Festival and the Bonaroo Festival. Catch 'em around here before they get famous. 9:30 p.m. $5.
