BALLS, BATS AND BUZZ

With Buchanan losing three of its past five games, Centennial emerges as the flavor of the week. The Golden Hawks are riding a six-game winning streak and can't hurt themselves this week because they are taking spring break off. ... Coaches at the Clovis Easter Classic -- which features seven of The Bee's Top 10 teams -- were all of a similar opinion: The race for the Division I title is wide open. ... After watching Frontier give Clovis all it could handle Monday, it appears defending champ Tulare has another strong challenger for the Division II title. ... Hanford West takes over the top spot in Division II after a 3-1 run so far through the Clovis East Classic, including conquests of D-I powers Clovis West and Buchanan.
