Daniel Gaytan

School: Clovis

Year: Freshman

Weight: 103

Need to know: Finished fourth in the state after placing second at Masters and first in Division I and the Tri-River Athletic Conference. Gaytan (39-11) won titles at Zinkin Classic and Mission San Jose tourneys, and was fourth at Doc Buchanan.

Stevan Knoblauch

School: Clovis West

Year: Sophomore

Weight: 103

Need to know: Came on strong at the end to reach the state final following a third-place finish at Masters. Knoblauch (30-6) placed second in Division I and second in the Tri-River Athletic Conference.

Diego Quintana

School: Selma

Year: Senior

Weight: 112

Need to know: Sixth-place showing at state capped season that featured third-place run at Reno TOC, title at Newberry Park. Quintana (42-8) was third at El Cajon, champion of the Central Sequoia League and Division II, and fifth at Masters.

Damien Arredondo

School: Buchanan

Year: Sophomore

Weight: 125

Need to know: Earned his way into the varsity lineup late in the season and ended up fourth in the state. Arredondo (37-4) placed fourth at Masters, third in Division I and second in the Tri-River Athletic Conference.

Clinton McAlester

School: Clovis

Year: Junior

Weight: 125

Need to know: Earned his second straight state medal with a sixth-place finish after placing eighth at 112s last year. McAlester (42-10) was second at Masters and in Division I, and first in the Tri-River Athletic Conference

Nathan Zarate

School: Selma

Year: Sophomore

Weight: 135

Need to know: Fifth-place finish at state capped 45-8 season that also included third-place showing at Masters. The Central Sequoia League and Division II champion was fourth at Five Counties and third at Mid-Cals.

Alec Dieter

School: Clovis

Year: Junior

Weight: 135

Need to know: Was sixth at state meet after placing fourth at Masters, second in Division I and first in the Tri-River Athletic Conference. Dieter (36-13) was fourth at Doc Buchanan and fourth at Temecula Valley Invitational.

Martin Fabbian

School: Buchanan

Year: Junior

Weight: 152

Need to know: After finishing no better than third in any tournament all season, was runner-up at state meet. Fabbian (40-13) was fourth at Masters, Division I and Tri-River Athletic Conference, and third at Doc Buchanan and Zinkin Classic.

Lewis Pedraza

School: Madera South

Year: Senior

Weight: 160

Need to know: Finished eighth in the state meet after placing fourth at Masters, third in Division I and first in the North Yosemite League. Pedraza (45-12) won the Western Invitational, was third at Sierra-Nevada Classic and fifth at Five Counties.

Zach Nevills

School: Clovis

Year: Freshman

Weight: 171

Need to know: Became the heaviest freshman to ever medal at the state tournament with a fifth-place finish. Nevills (42-16) was third at Masters, second in Division I and Tri-River Athletic Conference champion, as well as seventh at the prestigious POWERade Tournament in Pennsylvania.

Dwight Flores

School: Tulare

Year: Senior

Weight: 171

Need to know: Rebounded from disappointing seventh-place finish at Masters to place sixth at state meet. Was the Division I and East Yosemite League champion, and finished second at the Doc Buchanan.

Rodolfo Juarez

School: Central

Year: Junior

Weight: 189

Need to know: Became GrizzliesÂ’ first state medalist in eight years with a seventh-place finish. Juarez (49-5) was second at Masters, third in Division I and second in the Tri-River Athletic Conference. Also placed third at Temecula Valley Invitational.

Rykeem Yates

School: Edison

Year: Junior

Weight: 215

Need to know: Also a second-team All-Bee football player, he finished sixth at state meet after winning the Masters title. Yates (30-5) was third in Division I, won the County/Metro Athletic Conference title and at the CIT in Morro Bay.

Loren Baize

School: Lemoore

Year: Senior

Weight: 275

Need to know: Failed to medal at state tournament after winning the Masters title; finished third in Division I and won the West Yosemite League. Baize (45-9, 38 pins) was champion of the Lemoore Duals and the Dennis DeLiddo Tournament, and third at CIT in Morro Bay.
