School: Madera South High

Year: Senior

Position: Forward

Need to know: Bresnick has played four years of varsity (as a freshman at Madera High, where she was the second-leading scorer on the team). She had 74 goals and 45 assists in three years for Madera South, leading the Stallions in both categories all three seasons.

Bresnick was named the North Yosemite League’s Offensive Player of the Year this season, when she scored 25 goals and had 22 assists. She was voted the North Sequoia League Offensive Player of the Year as a junior with 22 goals and 15 assists. As a sophomore she was first-team All-NSL and runner-up for Offensive Player of the Year honors with 27 goals and eight assists.

“Megan is an extremely strong, skilled player that can turn a game around in an instant,” Madera South coach Gene West said. “Having quick speed, great skill and strength to maintain her balance is why she has led the team in scoring and assists over the past three years. Apart from on the field, she is one of the most respectful players that I have ever coached. Megan also has extremely good grades and takes many honors classes.”

The Stallions finished second to Memorial in the North Yosemite League this year at 7-2-1. They were seeded No. 1 in the Central Section Division III playoffs but lost 3-0 to No. 8 Hanford in the quarterfinals to finish 19-8-1.
