School: Clovis North

Year: Freshman

Position: Sweeper

Need to know: Archie helped Clovis North post 13 shutouts and she earned All-County-Metro Athletic Conference honors. Clovis North went 6-4 to place third in the County/Metro Athletic Conference and finished 17-12-2 overall. The Broncos, seeded No. 3 in the Central Section Division III playoffs, lost 1-0 in overtime to No. 4 Golden Valley in the final after beating No. 10 Hanford West 2-1 in overtime in the semis and No. 6 Yosemite 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

“If we were ever down in a game and needed a spark in the offense, we would push Car up to forward,” Clovis North coach Nick Pappanduros said. “She created our equalizing goal against Hanford West in the semifinals and earlier in the year scored the equalizing goal against Madera. She is a well-rounded player capable of playing all positions.

“She is a ninth-grader who would not only start on any other team but she would be one of their stars.”
