School: Clovis High

Year: Senior

Position: Forward

Need to know: The four-year starter for the Cougars contributed to almost all 87 goals the team scored this season. She helped Clovis win the Tri-River Athletic Conference at 10-0 and advance to the Central Section Division I semifinals, where the Cougars lost 1-0 to Stockdale. Stack was named co-Most Valuable Player of the Tri-River Athletic Conference this season along with teammate Vanessa Gonzalez and Buchanan’s Anisa Guajardo.

Stack led the Cougars as a senior with a school season record 31 goals and ranked second with 15 assists -- and there were only three games in which she did not score or have an assist.

Clovis reached the section semifinals all four of her seasons — and also won a league title, shared two others and placed third once. Stack scored 71 goals during her career, just four short of the school record held by Bianca Lopez. She had 50 career assists.

“Ashley is a super hard-working forward that will create chances out of nothing,” Clovis coach Jon Howerton said. “She plays a simple style of soccer and does not waste her time with flashy moves that serve no purpose. She is a blue-collar forward that earns every goal that she scores and only scores for her team. She is humble about her abilities and respectful of her opponents. Her speed and finishing ability was noticed by every team that we played this year.”

Clovis was ranked as high as No. 2 in the Western Region — and No. 6 in the nation — by NSCAA/Adidas this season.

Howerton said Stack plans to play at Fresno City College next year.
