School: Tulare

Year: Senior

Height/weight: 5-11, 215

He’s qualified because: East Yosemite League Player of the Year and repeat Bee All-Star.

Averaged 10.2 yards a carry while rushing for 2,273 yards and 39 touchdowns.

He also averaged 21.4 yards on 19 pass receptions and scored four times, and also started at outside linebacker.

In a 42-33 conquest of El Diamante for the Central Section Division II championship, he carried 23 times for 287 yards and one touchdown. He closed a three-year career with 5,656 yards rushing and 74 touchdowns.

The word: “He was the No. 1 returning running back in the country, but he carried the ball 150 times less this year because we distributed it around more. The greatest thing about him was he never complained about that. All he was interested in was winning, which was a testament to him being a team player. He was one of our two strongest kids, and was squating nearly 700 pounds at the end of the season. Against Tulare Western, he carried six guys into the end zone, and that was the squat rack right there. He pretty much took over the Valley championship game, showing why he was the best running back in the Valley.” — Redskins coach Darren Bennett.
