School: El Diamante

Year: Senior

Height/weight: 6-0, 195

He’s qualified because: West Yosemite League Offensive Player of the Year rushed for 2,867 yards — second in the state, unofficially.

Scored 37 touchdowns while not only replacing 2007 Bee All-Star Earl Rhodes but statistically upgrading the tailback position as the Miners successfully defended their WYL title, went 11-2 overall and finished second in the Central Section's Division II.

He carried 29 times — just above his season average — for 146 yards in a 42-33 loss to Tulare for the D-II championship. He’ll continue his career at Nevada of the Western Athletic Conference.

The word: “We never had to ask him to work harder because he was always working hard. He became a very physical runner, cut well, read blocks well and became a dominant force. The thing that impressed me most, he was a better runner after he carried more than 20 times. He got better as the game went on; in the fourth quarter, he blew people up. I never saw him tired. He hurt his ankle a couple times and never said a word. He kept his mouth shut, and we gave him the ball.” — Miners coach Mark Rogers.
