He’s qualified because: The unanimous pick as the North Sequoia League Most Valuable Player led the Central Section with 10 interceptions, averaged 9.6 yards a carry while rushing for 936 yards, and scored 16 touchdowns for the 12-1 Division IV champion.

In a 20-0 win over Kingsburg for the section title, he carried 12 times for 173 yards, including touchdowns of 63 and 73 yards, and intercepted a pass.

The word: “His work ethic would allow him to play in any league around. UC-Davis is very interested in him, and they like him on both sides of the ball. I think he could play corner or safety in college. He has good vision, studies film and understands down and distance and tendencies of the other team. He puts himself in good position.” — Redskins coach John Henson.
