He’s qualified because: One year after registering 14 sacks while making Bee All-Star second team for the 12-1 and Central Section Division II champion, the defensive end stepped up his game.

He had 18.5 sacks and was named West Yosemite League Defensive Player of the Year for a team that finished 11-2 and second in the D-II playoffs.

The word: “We weren’t quite as good in the line this year, so more teams double-teamed him, but he still beat people off the ball. One of the most exciting plays in football is a sack of the quarterback, and for him him coming off the edge gave a lift to the whole team and our fans. He could blow up an offense.” — Miners coach Mark Rogers.
