School: Clovis East

Year: Senior

Height/weight: 6-3, 300

He’s qualified because: All-Tri-River Athletic Conference defensive tackle is the best interior lineman in the program’s eight-year history.

He had nine sacks, 48 tackles, 16 blocked passes — including four in Clovis East's 28-20 win over Buchanan in the Central Section Division I semifinals — and 24 hurried passes.

The word: “He stopped the run best, from tackle to tackle, yet, at the same time, he gave centers fits when we ran a three-man line.

He put a lot of pressure on quarterbacks with sacks and blocked passes.

He has very good feet and runs a 5.5 [-second] 40, which doesn’t sound fast, but when you’re 300 pounds, that’s not bad.” — Timberwolves coach Tim Murphy.
