  Kudos to all who are helping clean up wind-damaged Lost Lake Park (story Jan. 15). As a member of the Friends of Lost Lake Park, I was there to see the terrific and unselfish effort by the Fresno County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team, which worked the chain saws and cleanup detail. Even Sheriff Margaret Mims was there.

  The Bee article on Dec 31, followed by Marek Warszawski's comments a day later, was the catalyst that got people thinking about what they might do to provide assistance. Without The Bee's reporting and the Search and Rescue folks, this project might not be getting done so quickly. The efforts of all are coming together for a good community result.

  One last comment: What to do with the wood? Since it is a county asset, don't give it away. Sell it and direct the funds to the Parks budget.

  Lost Lake Park, which took a beating when a freakish windstorm blew through the Valley in December, looks a bit more tidy thanks to the cleanup efforts Saturday of the Fresno County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team.
