Vitals: Madera, junior

She’s qualified because: She ran her top time on Woodward Park’s 3.1-mile course, an 18:47, to finish third in this year’s Central Section Division I race.

At the state meet she was knocked down at the half-mile mark and went on to clock a 19:15 to place 74th.

Also this year, she was third in the girls large school division at the Nevada Union Invitational (19:57), 26th in the seeded girls race at the Stanford Invitational (19:23), first at the Lake Kaweah Invitational (meet record 18:38), fourth in the girls large school division at the Cal Poly Invitational (19:16) and second at the Kingsburg Invitational (18:15).

The word: “She had a really good year,” Madera coach Russ Stanford said.
