Jim Boren, who has been at The Bee for more than four decades, oversees the news operation at the paper and fresnobee.com. He has held several positions at The Bee, including editorial page editor, public affairs editor and political writer and columnist. Boren covered politics for The Bee for 15 years prior to moving to the editorial pages in 1995. He became executive editor and senior vice president of The Bee in December 2012. He is a native of Fresno, and attended local schools. He graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a degree in journalism.
