There are a lot of ghoulish happenings to do Friday and Saturday for Halloween. Here's a monstrous menu:
Fright Night Scream Park: The screams you hear coming from Sierra Vista Mall's old movie theater aren't because of a scary movie. It's because Fright Night Scream Park has turned the space into a popular haunted destination, featuring four walk-through attractions and plenty of shriek-worthy scenes. Details: 7-10 p.m. weekdays, 7 p.m.-midnight weekends, through Saturday. 801 Santa Ana Ave., Clovis, 228-3275. $9, $25 packages.
Haunted Fresno: Last year, a prop master turned an empty 20,000-square-foot downtown Fresno warehouse into a freaky destination called Haunted Fresno. This year, it expanded to five different attractions, ranging from walk-through haunts to a don't-miss-it séance room, plus an opportunity to get buried alive. Scared yet? Details: 7-11 p.m. weeknights, 7 p.m.-midnight weekends, 665 Fulton St., 498-0960. $20.
Green Eegs and the Met: While it's not exactly a Halloween event, The Fresno Met's "Green Eggs and The Met" has the right timing ... and nobody would probably mind if you showed up in a costume. It's a surreal night of Dr. Seuss-inspired fun, with song, dance and specially concocted drinks. There are performances from local bands Yesterday's Chonies, Wheels of Fortune, El Olio Wolof and San Francisco's Uni and Her Ukelele. Details: 8 p.m. Friday at The Fresno Met, 1515 Van Ness Ave. $10 21-and-older only. 441-1455
Hobb's Grove: Hobb's Grove, south of Sanger, isn't a secret to most people around here, but this year it's gaining steam nationally. Haunted Attraction magazine named Hobb's Grove one of the top 25 haunts in the country this year. So if you haven't been to the haunted house, haunted forest or haunted hayride in a while, this might be a good year to check it out. Details: 5:30-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 14265 E. Goodfellow Ave., Sanger, 875-8150, hobbsgrove.com. $10-$12.50, $6-$9.50 ages 11 and younger. Packages available.
Club Retro's Halloween Show: Fresno's newest all-ages venue Club Retro is having a Halloween costume concert aimed at teen rock fans. Sacramento alternative band Bidwell headlines, with Merced's Sleepwell Darling and Fresno's Hello, Astronaut also is on the bill. If you come in a costume, you save two bucks at the door. Details: 7 p.m. Friday at Club Retro, 4450 N. Brawley Ave. $10, or $8 with a costume. myspace.com/clubretrofresno
