Fresno gets dose of comedy

Jerry Seinfeld, Ron White head to Saroyan; plenty of funnymen play before then.

Saroyan Theatre has secured dates with stand-up comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Ron White for early 2010.

Seinfeld -- star of the long-running NBC sitcom that bears his name -- will perform March 25. Tickets go on sale Dec. 4 and cost $47, $63 and $78.

It will be Seinfeld's first Fresno stop since 2005, when he played the Saroyan twice in the same night.

White, meanwhile, is best known for his work on the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. He's playing Saroyan on Feb. 25. Sales for tickets, which cost $42.75 start Friday.

Tickets for both shows can be purchased at the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center box office, at Ticketmaster locations, online at ticket master.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.

Bob & Tom's jokesters

Saroyan Theatre is also hosting an upcoming night of comedy with the Bob & Tom Comedy All-Stars on Dec. 12.

The tour includes comics who appear on the syndicated Bob & Tom Radio Show, which airs locally on KJFX (FM 95.7).

Scheduled to perform are Larry Reeb, Greg Warren and Donnie & the Pork Pistols. Kristi Lee from the Bob & Tom Show is the emcee.

Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster and cost $29.75.

More 'Blue Collar' laughs

Another "Blue Collar" comedian is on his way to the area. Bill Engvall is performing Dec. 13 at Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore.

In addition to his "Blue Collar" work, Engvall also stars in a sitcom on TBS.

He's doing two shows -- at 6 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $35, $50 and $65 and are available now through tickets.com. Details: (559) 924-7751.

Iglesias is back

Gabriel Iglesias returns to the central San Joaquin Valley on Jan. 15 for a date at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino in Coarsegold.

It's the second date on his Comedy Central-sponsored "The Fluffy Shop" tour. Tickets are slated to go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, costing $35 and $45. They'll be available via Ticketmaster.

Coming this weekend

No need to wait weeks or months if you need a laugh. This weekend brings a barrage of stand-up comedy options:

* Local comic Feather Da Wyz presents another installment of "Feather's House of Comedy" at 8 p.m. Friday at Pardini's, 2257 W. Shaw Ave. Guests include Sydney Castillo and Chris Spencer.

* Thai Palms, 7785 N. Palm Ave., continues its "Knights of Comedy" series Friday and Saturday with headliner Steve Flye, David Northrop and host Andre Covington. Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

* Ron G, who was seen on NBC's "Last Comic Standing, is performing at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tower District coffee shop Revue, 620 E Olive Ave., which recently opened a theater. Tickets cost $10 or $15 for VIP. Details: (559) 499-1844.
