Vitals: Hanford West, senior, 100

He’s qualified because: Earned the mantle of the Central Section’s fastest prep human by winning the 100 in 10.70 – the first sprint title in school history.

He said it: “This year, we finally got him healthy to a certain extent. He came out of football with injuries his first three years. Then he had the stomach flu, hadn’t eaten in three days and still wins the Valley in 10.7. He works extremely hard and follows directions very well. He’ll go to [College of the Sequoias], and when he works only on track, I think this kid could go 10.2 to 10.4.” – Huskies coach Bill Chambers.
