C.J. Albertson

Vitals: Buchanan, freshman, 1,600/3,200

He’s qualified because: Establishing himself as the Central Section’s distance star of the future, he placed fifth in both the 1,600 (4:22.98) and 3,200 (9:33.58) in the section finals. His season-best 4:19.28 1,600 is No. 2 all time for a section freshman, and his 9:33.58 3,200 is No. 9.

Jacob Budwig

Vitals: Fowler, junior, shot put/discus

He’s qualified because: Placed fifth in the Central Section in the shot (50-1½), and his season-best 185-0 in the discus is seventh all time in the section for a junior.

Idarre Coles

Vitals: Redwood, junior, high jump/triple jump/400 relay

He’s qualified because: In the triple jump, placed second in the section (47-0½) and ninth in the state (44-7¼). His 6-6 season best in the high jump was fourth in the section, and his 6-5 placed 10th in the state. And he ran a leg on the Rangers’ silver medal 400 relay (42.36) in the section.

Detri Dunn

Vitals: Yosemite, junior, 110 high hurdles/300 intermediate hurdles

He’s qualified because: Placed second in the Central Section in the 300 intermediate hurdles (39.62) and fifth in the 110 highs (15.07).

Heath Reedy

Vitals: Buchanan, junior, 1,600/3,200

He’s qualified because: Part of that deep pool of distance dandies on campus, he finished third in the Central Section in the 3,200 (9:22.28) and fourth in the 1,600 (4:21.44).
