Vitals: Bullard, senior, outfielder

He’s qualified because: Co-County/Metro Athletic Conference Player of the Year closed a .456 season by going 5 for 8 in D-I playoff wins over Clovis East and No. 1 Buchanan.

Also a Bee All-Star kicker in football, the left fielder scored 32 runs and drove in 33 while peppering 11 doubles, five triples and three home runs.

He also had seven saves, a 2.50 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 13.2 innings as the team’s closer.

He said it: “He’s not necessarily the poster child of a baseball swing, but we didn’t mess with his swing, put him in the 3 hole and he not only met, but exceeded everybody’s expectations. And once we saw he had a Nintendo-style curveball, we knew we had a closer as well.” — Bullard coach Chad Thornhill
