The Knights repeated their Division I championship with a 32-4 record, punctuated with a program-unprecedented three Southern California Regional victories and a final No. 9 state ranking by Cal-Hi Sports. The website also named him State Division I Coach of the Year. The win total is a school record and fifth in section history, according to section historian Bob Barnett. Amundsen is 92-35 (.724 winning percentage) in four seasons at Bullard and 157-85 (.649) in an eight-year career that began at Central.

He's qualified because: Repeat Bee Coach of the Year and three-time winner overall led Bullpups to 25-5 record, a fifth straight Central Section championship and seventh consecutive West Yosemite League title. Extending section-record streak of 97 straight wins against section competition, they crushed league champs Ridgeview (South Yosemite) 68-49, Clovis West (Tri-River Athletic) 56-15, Edison (County/Metro Athletic) 64-47 and Stockdale (Southwest Yosemite) 65-49. And they had Long Beach Poly -- which finished third-ranked in state -- beat on the road with 2 minutes to go before losing 56-49 in the Southern California Regional quarterfinals.

The bowl appearance — a 21-16 win over Campolindo of Moraga (14-1) — was the first for a section team in the six-year history of the event at the Home Depot Center in Carson. The Panthers outscored the opposition 599-118, giving up only seven touchdowns in their final 10 games.
